About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Try to get to know every place I can , and enjoy with the people I meet on the way
ABOUT ME
All my life I dreamed about travelling around the world. On January 2011 I went to live to New Zealand for a year. Over there I worked and travelled. After my time in the land of kiwis, maoris and strange-English-accent I went for a 7 months trip to Australia, South East Asia, China and India. That was the kick start of all the future adventures to come.
After 6 years of living in Buenos Aires, studying business and music, working and enjoying my hometown, friends and family, i'm out on the road again. This time the destination is Europe!
During the last year and a half I made two big trips by bicycle. The first one around Basque Country, Spain and Portugal (47 days) and the second one around France, Andorra, Spain (Catalunya), Italy and Switzerland, for 40 days. While cycling, I discovered another great traveller community, but specialized in cycloturism: Warmshowers. Because of the nature of my recent trips, lately i've been using it more than CS. You can check my profile in Warmshowers.org/andresmp89
At the moment i'm back on the cycling road again, this time in Italy!
PHILOSOPHY
Enjoying the moment and travelling with an open mind in order to get the best of the places I visit and the people I meet
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
A guy I met while traveling told me about CS. After meeting so many people couch surfing, I decided to get into it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first couchsurfing experience was in Auckland, New Zealand. i arrived there without knowing a lot about the place, and i met this guy in the airport who was going to be hosted by some kiwi girls. We met them, and they invited me too.
After that i did it in Samoa, Australia, Thailand and China, and i have to say that my experience was the best. I was shown the places by local people, and got to know about their culture and traditions.
Interests
Music, reading, playing football (fútbol)- I support the best team in the world: Boca Juniors-, travelling and learning about other cultures. I would like to know a few more languages.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like musical movies, the good sci-fi ones, Stanley Kubrik's, and quite a lot of Argentinian films.
I think music is the highest of the arts, and the one I couldn't live without. Rock (in all its forms and shapes)is my favorite genre, but I enjoy jazz, tango, folklore, reggae and blues too.
My favorite Argentinian authors are Córtazar and Borges. I like sci-fi (2001: Space Odyssey, Animal Farm, 1984, etc.), fantasy (Tolkien is the best), biographies, philosophy... basically I like reading anything worth a read.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Tongariro hike in the New Zealand's North Island, and kayaking in Milford Sound in South Island were the highlights of my time in that country. Living in the jungle in Samoa was an adventure I will never forget.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know quite a lot of economics and politics. History and geography are subjects which I like talking about too. But my widest knowledge is about music and literature. If anyone is interested in information about Argentina, I have a lot to tell.
