About Me

I am a Norwegian from a farm in the very east Sweden-bordering Finnskogen. After having lived for some time in southern Beijing teaching English to migrant children, I am now studying mechanical engineering in Florida. Big fan of Couchsurfing and the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling and am often around at new places. CS is a great way of meeting up with locals.

Interests

I've been playing football for most of my life, and additionally been doing some politics, swimming, and dancing (rockabilly/swing + salsa). I love nature, be it hiking, cross-country and downhill skiing, rock climbing, kayaking, diving. Want to learn to sail. I enjoy most sports and like to think that I maintain some chess skills, whether checkers, xiangqi or international(/western) chess. Up for a game of ping pong.

I also have a strong interest for foreign languages and armed with some of them I enjoy exploring the world. Also an optimistic hitchhiker. I am fond of reading. I don't know what future will bring, though I try facing it with a smile... :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Some books I've really enjoyed include Mandela's "Long Road to Freedom", Gregory Roberts' "Shantaram", Doris Goodwin's "Team of Rivals (Lincoln)", Khaled Hosseini's "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns", and read quite a bit of Knut Hamsun, Arto Paasilinna, Dostoevsky and Hemingway among others.

Although I don't play I got a pretty wide interest in music, got a taste for rock, rap, reggaeton, EDM and Brazilian funk, and I love discovering new gems.
