About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live in a city that never sleeps!

ABOUT ME

I study medicine at Medical faculty at University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. I am curious about learning other cultures and meeting new people. I like to jog, cycle, swim and ski. I also act in a local drama group and edit a student newspaper. I have travelled across Europe and even further. I have been to Canary Islands, Maldives, Egypt, Tunisia and Thailand. I have lived with a family in United Kingdom for two weeks, while I was on a english language training course there. I have never been to USA and it is my honest wish to experience it in a unique fashion.

PHILOSOPHY

Others view me mostly as a friendly and liberal person without prejudice, who tries to avoid conflicts. My motto is: Missed opportunity never returns, so don't hesitate to make a good use of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am traveling to NYC in first half of July with two of my best friends. We would like to meet local people, because that's how we will get the most authentic experience of a new city and culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to CouchSurfing.

Interests

I have many interests and I find it difficult to focus only on one of them. I like to make movies, like this one about heart attack: http://vimeo.com/11785261. I support imagination and creativity of each individual, because that's how good ideas are born. LEGO is my favourite accessory, because you can never run out of possibilities with it.
I read Wikipedia a lot. I am attracted to small details more than a general concept. Like in a detective story, where a seemingly irrelevant thing can play the key role. I like to study natural sciences, because it never stops fascinating me, what a beautiful and complex world our nature has created. I make sure to cover other topics also, like technics and history, because it broadens your mind.
If we go somewhere by car, I always volunteer for driving, because I really enjoy it. I don't like driving fast, I prefer curved roads where you can feel the handling of a car. I would like to experience driving different cars of different manufacturers, to see how they handle, although this wish is yet to be fulfilled. I am fascinated about 70's - 80's american cars, because they are very big, and extremely rare to see in my country and also in the rest of Europe.
I also like flying, in reality and simulation. I am not a licensed pilot, but i try to fly accurately with PC flight simulator.
I like to eat slow and taste the food thouroghly because it means a lot to me. Fast food restaurants are not my choice if there is an alternative. I enjoy what is given to me and don't ask for too much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While riding a train in Egypt, I asked the conductor, how many stations are left until my planned destination. He told me, that I should get off the train on the next stop. After a while, the train came to a halt and as I disembarked I realized, that there is nothing but plain desert up to horizon. After a bit of confusion, I was informed, that the train broke down in the middle of the desert. Luckily, they were able to repair it in an hour and we continued our journey.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how cook some of the traditional slovenian dishes and teach you our traditional dance. I can tell you more about history of Slovenia and former Yugoslavia, its disintegration and subsequent Yugoslav wars. I would like to learn more about american health and educatuion system. I would like to visit a hospital or medical faculty if possible.
