About Me

Hi all,

I'm András, 27 yo, I come from Hungary, but I currently live in The Netherlands.
I'm a relatively freshly graduated veterinarian, pursuing a carrier as a conservationist. I still think there's hope for this planet and I'd like to contribute to the fight foe saving it. I'm from Hungary, currently spending my time helping the seals of the Wadden sea, in a remote corner of Groningen province in The Netherlands.
I'm open-minded and generally outgoing. I like to discover things from a different, non-mainstream perspective. I love animals, but I like people too, I like travelling, food and gastronomy, history, politics and many other things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm always excited to experience life in different areas of the globe from a local's perspective. I love learning about the peculiarities of life, the different mindsets and cultures we have around here because we truly are a colourful bunch.
I like gastronomy, intellectual conversations, fun night-outs, nature among other things, and I think this site and community provides a very good source to experience all of these first hand.

Interests

I quite like animals, but I think humans can be agreeable too.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is quite wide anything from alternative pop, indie, classic rock to electronic beats, classical music and even some jazz goes,
In case of books I like fantasy, a bit of sci-fi, historical novels, books that teach us valuable lessons. I quite enjoy Tolkien, Asimov, the Harry Potter series, Marquez, Orwell, Murakami, Harper Lee and much more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Once I've visited all the bigger and smaller, sometimes even quite obscure, but beautiful, Italian locations in Umbria and Tuscany of one of my favourite novels from my teenage years, Journey by moonlight by Antal Szerb.

- I also think sailing on the Baltic sea was a very amazing thing to do.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always looking for opportunities to improve my Spanish. Currently would really appreciate to get some basic Dutch tutoring too.
I'm more than glad to teach you some of my crazy mother tongue as well if you feel very adventurous!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Nice conversations, maybe some Hungarian dishes.
