About Me

Hey! I'm Andre, and I was born and raised in Queens, New York. My interests include just about anything STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), photography, biking (road and mountain), politics, philosophy, psychology, and most of all - having a good time!

Types of people I would get along with:

I'm very curious and have a broad general interest in many different topics, so I tend to get along well with many different people and groups. I'm not very interested in ball sports at all (so soccer/football, American football, baseball, basketball, etc), but I will play with friends or for fun if the opportunity arises. I'm very social and I like to hang out, but I'm comfortable with my own company as well. So if you have a quiet personality, we'll get along as well.

So more specific things about me:

-I recently got out of the Marine Corps after 6 years, which is why I'm still in college. That is also how I'm able to support myself and live alone.
-I keep my place clean and tidy, but I'm not a neat freak.
-I'm pretty liberal/left-leaning, socially and politically. Almost hippie-like.
-When going out, I generally prefer conversation-friendly settings, but I'm happy to try new things and get out of my comfort zone.
-I'm drug-friendly/420-friendly, but I will accommodate guests who are not. Please let me know if you have an issue with drug or alcohol use.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting interesting people and learning about their history and backgrounds. I also like to live like a local when I travel, and what better way to do that than to stay with a local!

Last, but not least: I truly believe that travel opens doors, broaden horizons, and teaches a person more than they could ever learn in a classroom or at a job. Traveling is overall a great experience and I'm happy to make it more accessible.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," but I'm not a big movie person otherwise.

I listen to a lot of Postmodern Jukebox, Lo-Fi hip-hop and electronic, indie folk, and more. I'm not very picky
