About Me

Hello! I hope you are well. My name is Andre and I am from California, although I plan to immigrate to Brazil. I love to help others, read, write (I am currently writing a series of 5 novels), cooking (healthy, vegan food) and I love creating economic policies aimed at resolving poverty, inequality, urban/municipal specific issues and education.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing to make friends from all over the world and share our experiences together. After all, we all contribute to the multi colored mosaic that is the Earth.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music from jazz to movie soundtracks to pop to Música Popular Brasileira to gaúcho music to fado and so much more.

My favorite movie is Edward Scissorhands, it tells a beautiful story and is a reminder that no matter how different a person is from what society considers to be "normal", they still have beauty, value and deserve as much love as anyone else.

I mostly (almost exclusively) read non-fiction books, particularly about politics, economics, history, geography, pyschology and other social sciences. Currently, I am reading "The Next Revolution: Popular Assemblies and the Promise of Direct Democracy" by the libertarian socialist author Murray Bookchin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Although I haven't accomplished much yet, I am incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to serve warm dinners to the homeless population in my native city.

What I Can Share with Hosts

An immense amount of gratitude and kindness that I would love to demonstrate by helping with cleaning, cooking, organization, running errands and much more.
