About Me
Hello there!
The name's Andre, I'm a French/Indonesian dude who grew up in Cyprus and has also lived in Australia whilst doing my studies.
I like to think I'm a super chill guy who's always open to get to know someone new, if you like any of the following travel, food, sports, philosophy, deep conversations and wine, I think we'll get along just fine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Wanted to meet open minded people and the ones keen to travel, the modern day nomads if you will. Heard this service was an awesome way to do so, and to me my spare couch may mean a home for a fellow nomad.
Music, Movies, and Books
Very Eclectic music taste, will rather listen to what you want to play so that I can find some new music ;) However my top bands/artists would be:
(Melodic Hardcore/Pop-Punk/Punk) - Title Fight, Touche Amore, TSSF, Citizen, Defeater
(Psychedelic Rock) - Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Tame Impala, Mac Demarco, Temples, Lower Dens, Jimmy
(Hip-Hop) - Kung Fu Kenny, Paak, J Cole, EARL, MF DOOM, JOEY BADA$$, man everything even the 70s.
(Garage) - The Belligerents, Murlocs, Courtney Barnett, Car Seat Headrest
(Chill) - Bonobo, Tycho, Rat & Co
Everything pretty much, love me some Jazz, Blues, International, Indie music too. So let me so what you listen to as I'm way to picky.
Movies? More of a documentary guy as of late but Rick & Morty all the way. We got to get the Szechuan sauce back. Been binging on Chef's Table and Abstract from Netflix.
Don't really have a favourite book, but I seem to read more from blogs and online articles than I do books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going to Japan for me was one of the most amazing experiences for me. My emotions were confused between scared and excited, because it was the first time I was going to visit a country on my own without my family.
The culture shock was immense but in a good way. It fascinated me to see how different it was from other countries I had been to and that trip made me realize the beauty of travel, guess it broadened my mind ;)
What else, what else.... Oh!
12 hour drive from Sydney to Melbourne was awesome, was an awesome way to get to know one of my now very good friends James, and hats off to him for surviving driving all that way in one sitting. But seeing Canberra and the small high way towns of Australia was pretty awesome.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I can teach you a bit of French. I could teach you a bit of guitar unless you're better than me which is likely haha.
Could definitely share experiences, perceptions and views over a good conversation.
The conversation could get deep though.
