Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I have done many ('cuz you only live once):
* When I was 24yo, I immigrated to USA with US$100 bucks in my pocket. Stayed there for 21 years. What an amazing adventure! :)
* Quit a promising software engineering career and a great job at Google to become a white water rafting guide in California. And then a white water rescue technician. The best career move ever!!!
* Lived at Forrest Ackerman's mansion (AKA "The Ackermansion") in Hollywood for 6 months. In Dracula's room, no less. :)
* Skydived. Solo. The very first time. Scariest shit I have ever done. Never again!
* Canyoneer the gorgeous 7 Tea Cups and Jump Canyon in California, Escalante in Utah, Zion NP, Maui, and so many routes on the west coast of USA. Became a Canyon Rescue Technician. More than an incredible sport, canyoneering is a fantastic way of life.
* Allowed myself to get locked in after hours at Kiholo State Park Reserve, Hawaii, so I could camp by the blue lagoon and sea turtle sanctuary and wake up in the morning and swim with dozens of them (which is allowed as long as you don't touch them, which I didn't). I fell blessed to have that paradise all to myself for sunset and then sunrise.
* Stepped on flowing lava. An old dream I was able to make it happen :)
* Trekked Havasupai Trail, camped in Supai, played at Havasu Falls, Mooney Falls and Beaver Falls. Such an amazing place!
* Went to the Amazon to learn tree climbing and become a facilitator.
* Hiked Mount Roraima and lived with the Venezuelan indians for a few weeks.
* Decided to become a woodworker and boat builder. And that's my current project :)
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I bring an inflatable canoe anywhere I go. I can do the research, planning and take you with me. You will have to do some paddling though. :)
I am really good with rope. From knots to rope hauling systems to tree climbing with ropes to shibari. If you want to learn some, I can show you the ropes (pun intended).
I make the best BBQ'd Tri-Tip ever! I can make it for you (open fire only) and/or teach you.
