Overview
About Me
Hi I am Andre, nice to meet you!
I am a Hydraulic engineering master student, currently studying at TU Delft the Netherlands. I am focussing on Ports and Waterways specialization.
I originated from Solo city in Central Java Province, Indonesia. However, I grew up in Jakarta the metropolitan city of my country.
I did my bachelor degree in Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, in Surabaya city which is 3000 km away from my home, therefore I used to live far away from my family.
I am an open minded person with objective point of view. I live by code my father teach me called "Ikrar", which is INTEGRITY, POLITENESS, DISCIPLINE, RESPONSIBILITY, and TOLERANCE.
I am good in socializing with people as long as they are not too many ( one to three person at the time max). I always excited to learn and try new things as long as they are not prohibited by my religion. And yes, I am a believer, I am a moslem.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would like to come out from my safe zone and try to meet new people on my own. Up until now I always (or often) travel in group, which make me wonder what makes me afraid to go out on my own. I expect there will be many eye opening experience which you can only get by travelling alone and stay with locals. It will be much more personal and friendly experience compared to staying at hostels.
Interests
I am really interested in balance of life. Philsofy and its practice. I have a character but I am open to new things. I like to socialize but sometimes I need my own space. I appreciate nature and its creation as well as human invention.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once participated in a research project from my university where I was assigned to one of the remote island in Indonesia (Maratua Island). I was suppose to design a framework for home stay industry there, however I went extra mile by asking the locals, government officials, and NGO over there to participate in the design.
The result is really satisfactory, and I am quite proud of it.
Teach, Learn, Share
There is an Indonesian proverb which have wonderfull and deep meaning that I can share:
Ing ngarso sung tulodo
"Those who are in front should become an example"
Ing madyo mangun karso
"Those who are in the middle should provide encouragement"
Tut wuri handayani
"Those who are in the rear should follow orders"
The complete meaning of this proverb I will explain it to you personally if we met. Because it is quite hard to write it here, hahaha
