I'm a simple, agreeable and enthusiastic 25-year-old. I have recently finished my Master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and wish to start making the most of youthful years to explore the world.

As any young adult, I am at a point where I am exploring all my options as to what I want to do with my life. So, traveling through the world seems like a great way to do so. I am open to all kinds of different experiences, and welcome all adventures that life may throw my way.

As any travel enthusiast, I look forward to explore more and more places, preferably on a budget. Besides getting to know the beauty of these foreign places, getting in touch with some of the local people and their customs is equally appealing.

Couchsurfing sounds like an ideal solution. I wish my trips to be dedicated almost exclusively to getting truly familiarized with local culture and points of interest, so reducing budget constraints and local guidance tips are more than welcome.

As a host on couchsurfing, my goal is to equivalently meet people from all around the world, and get to know fellow passionate travelers a little better. I aim to make everyone feel welcome and to supply them with a great opportunity to explore a new city without accommodation concerns.

As an engineer which specialized in computer networks, I am naturally interested in technology, most specifically computer science, programming, and the Internet.

However, I also thoroughly enjoy exploring the fine arts. I am a passionate cinephile, having explored countless movies old and new, and I also love music (of all kinds), television series, and reading.

I also am a big fan of nature (who isn't?) and, having been born and raised on an archipelago blooming with nature, I quickly became a fan of hiking and just taking long walks.

Meeting new people, socializing and just having fun as a group are other great ways to pass the time as well. Nice long talks with friends in a cozy place, be it bars, coffee shops, or at home, are moments I always treasure.

My musical tastes are very eclectic, so it's very hard for me to state favorites in terms of music. I like classic rock, soul, jazz, classical compositions, modern rock, pop, funk, progressive rock, glam rock, and even some disco. My biggest pet peeve would probably be metal and hard rock - other than that, I'm game for everything.

Being a huge cinephile, my tastes in movies are equally diverse. Even though I am a particular fan of Stanley Kubrick, I enjoy all kinds of movies, from cinema classics (Alfred Hitchcock) to modern cool (Quentin Tarantino) to indie icons (Wes Anderson), and all kind of things in-between such as gangster movies (Martin Scorsese) and even dark humor (Coen brothers). I also have a particular love for good comedies (Mel Brooks, Monty Python, Woody Allen). Not too big on blockbusters, though, with occasional exceptions.

Unfortunately, I haven't read as much as I would have liked to. However, from what I've read, I've thoroughly enjoyed Stephen King (Carrie and Misery), George Orwell (1984 and Animal Farm), and Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy). Other than that, I've particularly enjoyed The Picture of Dorian Grey, as well as The Little Prince.

I did a 25-day Interrail trip through 7 European cities in the Summer of 2015 with a friend of mine. Absolutely life-changing and a wonderful experience all-around.

I can teach you some fun facts about Portuguese culture, and about some of the unknown wonders of the Azores, as well as some cool cooking tips, and some interesting brain teasers.

I wish to learn absolutely anything you feel you can teach me. From cooking skills to art skills to life hacks, to knowing more about your culture, I am a blank canvas looking forward to be painted on.

As for sharing, I wish to share a laugh with eveyrone, joyous moments over a nice meal or drinks, and the simple beauty inherent to feeling part of a global community. Sharing our homes with one another and the willingness to aid in this worlwide quest for traveling is at the heart of couchsurfing altogether.

Well, I have good spirit and a joyous optimism, and hence I ensure I will never give hosts a bad time.

I will obediently abide by the rules of the houses where I stay, and I will be very respectful and grateful for the hospitality provided.

As for me, well, there are always life stories to speak of, moments to share, and my availability in whichever way I can be helpful so as to make my stay as little of a nuisance as possible.
