About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore the UK, climb mountains, hiking around and travel as much as I can!
ABOUT ME
I consider myself to be a laid back, calm person who loves to chat. As I am pretty curious I don't mind talking about all sorts of different subjects and I love to learn. I also think I have a good sense of humor and am always willing to have a good laugh.
I love to travel, to eat and to challenge myself out of the comfort zone. I have a passion for the new and the different.
I'm an introvert on recovery.
PHILOSOPHY
First know thyself. Always be grateful. Do good things and good things happen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
In November of 2013 I wanted to try Couchsurfing in London. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a host. So I decided to start hosting. I had a great experience with people from all over and I made some friends. Then time came to explore the USA: I reconnected with a Couchsurfing friend, met some great new people and was lucky to be hosted in Salt Lake City, Nashville, Washington D.C. and New York City. Now I'm all about meeting people on CS: I've made some fantastic new friends in the UK and Colombia and there's always space for a few more ;)
I'm truly amazed and grateful to all the possibilities created by this website.
Interests
I am an explorer.
I love the outdoors: swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, climbing, disc golfing, and camping.
I am an avid reader. From books to magazines and newspapers.
I like all sorts of music with particular interest in indie music, jazz and some opera.
I would surely have been a man from the renaissance as my interests are quite varied. I am also a collector.

Music, Movies, and Books
Science fiction has been cropping up on my reading list: mainly the classics 1984, Brave New World, We, 2001, Dune. I love TV shows (I clearly have seen too many)... ask me my favourite or give me a suggestion!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2015 I did a 3 month trip across the US with a two week getaway to Mexico: I explored Salt Lake City and the surrounding canyons; I camped and climbed in Moab; Visited the Canyonlands, Arches, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Yellowstone and more National and State Parks. I drove from Mexico city to the Yucatan Peninsula and back through the Chiapas State finding a lot of Magical Pueblos and Mayan ruins on the way. And finally Greyhounded my way from SLC to Nashville, Washington D.C. and New York.
I used to speargun-fish. I did it all over Portugal: From the Algarve, to Alentejo, from the Santa Cruz-Peniche area (where I lived) up to Madeira and the Azores. In 2011, after coming back to Faial from S. Jorge Island in a friend's boat, a huge school of dolphins appeared. It was crazy: we followed and ended up snorkeling near them. It was really amazing and thrilling!
Explored Colombia on my own :D
