About Me

I’m an author, women’s empowerment coach, online instructor and recent widow. As an author and coach, I’m deeply passionate about teaching women how to rise above the adversity in their lives.

When I am not coaching I am self-employed creating captivating eye candy visual designs and videos helping small business owners build their businesses.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Last April my beloved husband, Angel passed away. After 33 years of living happily together with him, I’m slowly working to regain my independence to feel comfortable again traveling and being on my own. My 31 year old son, Paul is joining me to do some pet sitting.

PT is a ray of sunshine. He’s kind, respectful and polite. He’s a bit shy but once he feels comfortable, he loves to be around people. He’s a business student eager to learn, grow and explore the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

After George Michael passed away I re-discovered his music and fell in love with it. One of my favorite movies is Last Christmas. Generally I don't tend to watch movies. I prefer watching YouTube. Because I am always seeking to level up my life, and share my discoveries with my clients and readers, I love learning and enjoy watching videos of people that inspire or move me to action.

I'm a Gary Vee, Lewis Howes, Dr. Joe Dispenza and Abraham Hicks fan. When I'm not watching YouTube satisfying my craving to learn and become a better person, I'm binge watching some of my favorite shows on Netflix like Grace and Frankie or British Bake Off. Give me some pop corn and Netflix and I'm in my happy place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done so much more than one amazing thing. But two things that come to mind are my accomplishment back in 2001 to complete The Avon Breast Cancer Walk - 60 miles over the course of 3 days.

But most notably is putting the pieces of my life back together as I learn to renegotiate life without my late husband and life partner of 33 years, Angel Amador.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am all about teaching, learning and sharing. As an abuse survivor and empowerment coach, I teach my clients how to manage their emotions and stand in their power so they can rise above the adversity in their lives.

So many people struggle with depression and illness because they don't feel worthy of being happy and healthy. I know what that's like because I went through decades of depression myself until I learned that much of my misery was self-created . When I started to let go of my past and prioritize my self-care my life transformed.

I wrote my book, "Lovin' the Skin You're In" to teach women how to move beyond victimhood to compassion and kindness for themselves so they can see their lives from a place of power. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I teach in my latest book, "Grants Made Easy," I can help you get money for yourself , your family and your business. I'm a grants expert. Grants are free money programs designed by the US government to help get people and businesses back on their feet to circulate the economy.

Back in 2020 when Covid wiped out my source of income, my husband and I weren't able to pay our rent and expenses. Eventually we owed $7200 in back rent. To protect my family from eviction, I began to research grants. Since then I've been successful at getting over $46K for myself and my family and over $31K for friends and family. I started a Facebook group called Grants Made Easy with Andrea Amador and created a course and book to teach others how to get financial relief through grants.
