About Me

I'm open minded blah blah blah... I guess we all are. Apart from that I think I just like to enjoy myself, drinking wine, trying new food, meeting new people, and discovering new places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I'm mostly traveling alone, I think that the best opportunity to meet people and enjoy some time together is really couchsurfing. Instead of being alone in a hostel, you end up eating typical food in a house where people are willing to show you around. You can discover the city through their eyes and they can see their own city through the eyes of a wanderer!

I also think that hosting CouchSurfers is the closest thing to travelling I can do while stuck at my place.

Interests

I love to discover new countries and new cities but what I like most is outdoors activities. I really enjoy hiking and also travelling by bike.
Thanks to my job I have had the opportunity to discover many cities, since I often attend conferences, and I exploit this opportunity to just wander in those new cities and get a taste of what they have to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't think it's possible to condense everything I like in this box but here we go.
Music:
- rock music 60s to 90s (pink floyd, led zeppelin, CCR, deep purple, aerosmith, the who, beatles, rolling stones, beach boys, queen, dire straits)
- classical music (chopin, schubert, beethoven, Tchaikovsky, bach, saint-saens, mozart, mahler)
- jazz music (coltrane, charlie parker, miles davis, herbie hancock, gillespie dizzy)

Books, mostly Italian/French/Russian/German/Spanish authors, but really pretty much everything - just to give an idea: gadda, leopardi, flaubert, tolstoj, pirandello, ariosto, Dostoevskij, svevo, Douglas Adams, durrenmatt, Philip K. Dick, baudelaire and many many more....)

Cinema: again, lots of stuff, ranging from (some) Hollywood blockbuster to 3 hours long Turkish movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't like to brag, but I was one of the first three men to land on the Moon

If you have problems with your computer, I'm your guy! :p
