About Me

Ciao Humans!
I'm Andrea, originally from the lovely town of Brescia in Italy, but these days you'll find me enjoying my life in the cozy vibes of Gothenburg, Sweden.

I decided to remain in this beautiful part of Sweden after wrapping up my master’s in Political Communication and finding a nice and relaxing job on the West Coast (of Sweden).

I share a space with my partner, two awesome flatmates, and the sweetest retired sled dog you'll ever meet.

I've got this thing for exploring new places. Not as in the "I've checked off all the touristy spots" kind of way, but more like a "let's walk around aimlessly and see what makes this city tick" approach. I'm all about finding the true nature of a place, whether it's in the local hangouts or just wandering the streets.

Sure, I appreciate the big attractions, but I'm equally excited about the small, everyday moments that make a place unique.

If you're into experiencing the local rhythm and want a laid-back Couchsurfer who's up for sharing stories and making the most out of our time together, hit me up. Let's swap tales, discover hidden gems, and make some chilled-out memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I initially joined Couchsurfing during my student days when my wallet was quite empty. The prospect of connecting with locals who could reveal the hidden gems of their town appealed to me, promising a more authentic and budget-friendly travel experience. It was a memorable bike trip through the picturesque landscapes of Belgium, where Couchsurfing truly won my heart. The connections I formed and the genuine hospitality I received convinced me that it was the ultimate way to solo travel. Unfortunately, I had to hit the pause button during COVID.

Now that I’ve set my life in Sweden, I've decided to dust off my profile and hit the road, again. To me it is not just about finding a place to crash; it's about building connections and weaving stories.

Interests

I'm into comics, love exploring nature, and love visiting historical sites. Video games, board games, and role-playing games (including LARPS!) are my go-to for downtime, and I'm always up for a good political debate. To me, life is everything that happens after 5 PM on weekdays

Music, Movies, and Books

I deeply appreciate Irish folk and rock music, but my taste spans various genres like classical, jazz, dance, and pop. I love reading beautifully drawn and written comics like "Sandman" and "Akira."
Reading-wise, I lean towards books on politics and history.
When it comes to movies and TV series let’s just say that I could get into an endless conversation about Star Wars or One Piece

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It was my first couchsurfing adventure in Belgium in 2018: I left with a backpack and the intention to cycle around the whole northern side of the country staying only on people’s “couches”.

I couldn’t rent a bike for that, but thanks to the amazing love of my first couch surfer host I got her spare bike and roamed the country freely, hitting towns that I would’ve thought of visiting before, and ended up sleeping in a church in Kortrijk and on a roof on the main street of Mechelen!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Of course I will share the Italian culture: food, manners and fun are guaranteed!
I have a nice background over my country's history and culture that I always like to share and I love visiting and discovering new places, even within the area of my city.
I'm also quite good at cooking, mostly Italian recipes and I'm always glad to cook it and share!
I'm quite of an easy going person too and I really enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them.
I am also an excellent pub guy: I just give my best in front of a nice, cold pint of beer.
