About Me
I'm a Hungarian girl living in Budapest and working as a food engineer. I'm kind of new in the couchsurfing community, but I've always admired the idea of travelling a way in which you can see places through eyes of the locals. Meeting people from all over the world opens my eyes time to time and helps me to accept other values, cultures and point of views which I consider the greatest benefit of travelling.
I love sharing my experience and giving others more insight into the Hungarian culture. Besides that, I'm fond of trying out foreign cuisines and experiencing unknown tastes. As a food engineer, this is the quickest way to connect with a new culture :)
Currently, we are about to renovate our flat so we cannot host surfers during this time, but hopefully, it'll be finished by the beginning of this fall. After that, surfers visiting Budapest are welcome again! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I keen on being at high places so arriving at a new city my first thing to do is finding the highest spots, hiking to the top of the biggest mountain, visiting the grandest TV towers, skyscrapers, etc... :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm not saying that I know Budapest as the back of my hand, but I can share you some awesome spots to check if you once arrive at our Capital!
Some must-haves:
Heroes’ square, Citadella, Parliament, Vajdahunyad Castle, Chain Bridge, Liberty Bridge, Buda castle, Margaret Island, Andrássy street, Vörösmarty square.
These are the ones that are frequently advised by most of the tourist guides, but let’s see the others:
-Hike up to the János mountain viewpoint from Normafa or Árpád viewpoint from Hármashatárhegy.
-Experience the local goods in one of the farmers market, for instances, Vásárcsarnok (1093 Budapest, Vámház körút 1-3.) or Hold street market (1054 Budapest, Hold utca 13.)
-Architecture: Two of our grandest train stations (Keleti and Nyugati train station) are fairly spectacular and interesting architecturally, but sadly they are in quite neglected condition, they could do with some renewal. Latter one was design by Gustave Eiffel, some years before he made his mark in Paris :)
Besides that, our spas that remained from the Turkish occupation are allegedly world famous, but honestly I’ve never tried any of them :)
I’ve been living here for more than 5 years now and I can say that most of the interesting spots are within reach by public transportation. If you bought a season ticket, you’ll be able to use all means of public transportation, including buses, trams and underground or even boats on the Danube! :)
