About Me
Hello everyone!!
I am a person who is open to each and every new experience. I love traveling, I love food but, most of all, I love meeting new people and getting immersed in new cultures and languages just as much as I love sharing mine with the world.
I have visited many places and many people in many countries. All of them will forever stay in my heart but I believe there is always room for more I am a very open person, I enjoy spending time with people and learning anything new - like for example I learned to make bobbin lace while traveling around Slovakia 🙂.
I cannot wait to meet everybody! I hope we have an unforgettable time together ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have stayed with host families and other people in the past and I've learned that it is the best way to get to know a new culture and meet amazing and lovely people :) I appreciate the hospitality of all my previous hosts and especially mu three host families in the USA and I am very thankful to all of them for teaching me much about the world 🙂
I would rather have a Movie night and a bottle of beer with a local host than stay in a fancy hotel anytime!! 🙂
Interests
First of all, I am a nature lover! 🙂 Hiking is one of my favorite free time activities. Thankfully ee have beautiful national parks here in Slovakia so I can hike with my friends every summer and during weekends, aleays finishing with a cold beer 😉
Just going out with my friends on a Friday night or the weekend is enough for me. Grab a beer and talk about anything and everything...🙂
I am also a volunteer and, despite being quite young myself, I work with youth - mostly exchange students who come to study at highschools in my city through the same program that I went to the USA.
- photography
- reading
- backpacking
- learning languages
- hiking in the mountains
Music, Movies, and Books
I am quite a reader, to be honest. I have read many books so far but my favorit forever remains The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Anyone who reads it will know why, in fact it is the only book I have read more than once.
As for movies I am quite into K-drama because I find it more intelectual than American TV shows although I am a big fan if quite a few Hollywood productions
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was freshly 17 I traveled to the USA to study there at a highschool there as an exchange student. I spent 11 wonderful months with three amazing host families and many many great friends. I had always liked traveling and meeting foreigners but during my stay in the USA I really came to understad the importance of one's culture and I learned more about different countries and cultures from my fellow exchange students and about what we call a "global respect". It was a very important year which had a great positive impact on my life and I am thankful to everyone I met on that part of my journey.
I'd also like to mention that two years back I helped organize and participated in a Halloween Food Fight to raise money for an orphanage. I am proud of this one too.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to share my passion for languages with the world. My next goal is to learn Korean but unfortunately I don't have the means at the moment. It is my biggest dream to visit South Korea and learn as much of the language and as much about the culture as possible.
I am also very excited to share mu culture with anyone who is interested and teach some Slovak phrases too 😃
What I Can Share with Hosts
A positive mood and a great time ... what else is there to add? 😃 My culture and language of course! 😉
