Overview
About Me
I am about to start graduate school studying public history. I am Chinese, though raised by my Czech parents. My preferred way of getting to know new cities is by foot or by bus, hitting up local book stores, trying recommended foods, and maybe some dancing. I'm always down to talk about literature, politics, education systems, community organizing, language learning, and horror movies.
PHILOSOPHY:
Lemony Snicket
Just kidding. I am, like everyone, still figuring out my life philosophy. So far I believe in reading, dancing, fostering local communities, and learning to listen across difference.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am not an experienced surfer, but I am very fortunate to be a fairly experienced traveller. I have realized that my most rewarding times happen when I have gotten to know new folks over shared interests and new experiences. I love hearing about other peoples' daily practices and worldviews.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have tried virtually every hot chocolate available in Minneapolis. The best can be found at Bordertown Coffee and Bakery.
Teach, Learn, Share
At this point I have started learning more than a few languages but can claim proficiency in only a couple. I am fascinated by foreign language pedagogy though, and enjoy talking with folks about their experiences in language learning and/or teaching.
I can also offer the basics of ballroom dance, especially waltz, tango, cha-cha, and swing. I spent two years on my college ballroom competition team.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I never tire talking about books and am up for conversations about fiction, philosophy, race relations, politics, education, and pretty much any social issue.
