Hi! My name is Andrea, I come from Italy from a place close to Milan and the beautiful Alps. I graduated photography and have been working as a photo retoucher (working with Photoshop for advertising) for the past 4 years, first in Germany and then in London. During the last 5 months that I spent in London, tired of my sedentary stressful office job, I worked as a tree surgeon, a big change thanks to which I could enjoy working outside in contact with nature. .

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love independent traveling, getting off the beaten paths (to those kind of places where local people stare at you amazed by the sight of a foreigner) and meeting interesting local people with whom comparing personal views on common topics.
I truly think that you can't get a real experience of a country and of its people as long as you spend your time in hotels/hostels rooms, restaurants and cafes.
In my opinion the best way to do that is stepping into local people's homes, experiencing their way of being hospitable and have a chat drinking a cup of tea or coffee or maybe a glass of wine or vodka or whiskey...
Couchsurfing is for me the best way to do all of this.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's easier for me to say that I like ANY kind of music EXCEPT: hip hop, rap and metal.
I like to read books, I mainly do it while traveling, even though it's often hard for me to stay focused on reading because of my hard distracting mind. I enjoy any kind of books, I particularly love those part of the beat generation movement, history books and I also enjoy reading handbooks about various practical topics.

My preference about movies varies from period to period: there are sometimes when I enjoy watching sophisticated movies with a deep poetic meaning, other times I just need a stupid movie full of explosions and people dodging bullets or rockets.
