About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to quench my thirst of wine and people knowledge.
ABOUT ME
My friends would probably tell you that I'm pretty good-natured and usually shy, pretty funny, but also with a hint of stubbornness. They would also add something about my being a bit uncertain in what I want from life, having taken 2 BAs in completely different fields of study and done a sum of different jobs. And they would end saying something like "oh yeah...and he's vegetarian too", as if I had some kind of incurable illness. I tend to be pretty quiet, unless there's a chance to be noisy, like the right group of people singing along to a trashy karaoke.
Oh...a word of warning: I tend to talk a lot sometimes, so feel free to tell me to shut up.
But hey, look at the bright side, at least I don't snore!
PHILOSOPHY
I'm vegetarian. I believe in karma, but also in not taking things too seriously when it's not necessary.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm going around Europe with temporary vintage/harvest season related jobs right now, stopping at my parents' whenever I'm in Italy, so I cannot host, but I'm glad to show people around if I'm free!
I know Venice very well and also a bit of Berlin (just in case I'm around there, which could happen)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have friends all around Italy and in several European countries. I'm not ashamed to say that I've surfed that couches whenever I was given a chance. I could seriously sleep in a bathtub or on a plank. I don't mind noises (ok, I don't love snoring, but who does?), light or animals jumping on me early in the morning.
Interests
I like learning languages (even few words), drinking wine (I'm a wine-maker...and no, I don't drink 'till I'm numb), hiking and the outdoors in general. I like getting lost and finding hidden/forgotten/weird places. I enjoy some photography with my good old digital reflex and live music, especially indie/rock/acoustic/gypsy jazz/swing and eventually some good electro or experimental stuff. I love movies and I worship Wes Anderson and Bill Murray (even separately).
I also read and write, but honestly, not much while I'm travelling.
On occasions, with the right company, I like to dedicate some of my time to geocaching.
So, basically, I'm a nerd who also happens to leave his house.

Music, Movies, and Books
If I had to pick one of each to represent the whole...
My book would be "Everything is Illuminated" by Jonathan Safran Foer.
My album...damn, that's a tough one. "Castaways and Cutouts" by The Decemberists.
My movie would be "The Royal Tenenbaums" by Wes Anderson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Walking down an Irish country road during my first time there, falling completely in love with the plave and randomly meeting one of the best people I know.
- Taking a night bath in the middle of the sea, near The Kornati archipelago (Croatia), right after watching the sunset from the boat, while dining.
- Going around some Tuscan vineyards at night, on a jeep with a group of friends/colleagues, drinking wine and tasting grapes.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach anyone a lot of things about wine, or cooking. I'd like to learn about local traditions. And that's about it.
