About Me

3 currently favourite mottoes: "live and let live", "la vie est un voyage ~ et l'amour est ce qui rend ce voyage valable", "take yourself serious, but not too seriously".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I like travelling as much as hosting people from all over the globe, couch-surfing seems ideal. Although a member for some time, it's only recently that we actively host or visit through couch-surfing, since we always had o/s guests staying for weeks or months (or visiting others).

Interests

I'm a people person, this is reflected in my current choice of work (social work and disability support) and care about my family and friends. Music often is my life-saver; dancing too. Self-confessed film-buff! Learning languages is becoming a passion (again). I love going out, meeting different people - on travels or just on my "home-turf". Regular escape from city-life is essential, not optional. l love horse-riding, especially along our fabulous beaches (but haven't had the time for ages), prefer swimming in oceans rather than swimming pools and I'm into "growing stuff" ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to mention, really :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- having my two sons
- deciding to visit a country on my own despite warnings by everyone (incl. former locals) not to do so. Following my gut-instinct was the best decision ever!
- experiencing Kenya on low-budget with my young son
- recovering a single-engine plane from stalling without understanding the language (madness!)

Teach, Learn, Share

Depending on demand and whereabouts, I can offer some tutoring in English or German.
Would like to learn about the country and its people that I am visiting and improve my basic Farsi and very 'rusty' French.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lots of stories :). Tips & infos about places I've visited; my cooking and/or language skills; I am not from planet "Take", so I would contribute to meals, clean-up etc. (any favours given are sought to be returned).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Kenya, Macedonia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Tanzania, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Germany
