About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience as much of this great, crazy world as possible!

ABOUT ME

I just moved back to Des Moines after spending the past 7 years as a bit of a nomad. It's a great city and I'm excited to host fellow couchsurfers who are passing through.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not here to impress you. I'm here to party with you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I lived in Austin for awhile and we hosted a ton of surfers from around the globe through my roommate's account. Now that I'm finally settled down and have a place of my own, I'm hoping to continue hosting.

My place is a small, cozy studio apartment, but it's right downtown, walkable to all the action. I've got a comfy couch and can throw down some sleeping pads.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love getting to meet so many interesting people! Not only do I get to learn more about their culture, or the city they're from, but they usually help me discover new things about the place I'm living as well.

Interests

I love dance parties, gettin' down to some James Brown.
I drink way too much coffee.
I used to do props and set dressing on really terrible, low budget films. (Anyone seen Megafault?)
I'm always looking for a new adventure.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is Harold and Maude. I'm also a huge fan of Wes Anderson and Guillermo del Toro.
Two of my all time favorite books are The Count of Monte Cristo and The Alchemist. I've also been enjoying reading essays by Wendell Berry and anything by Michael Chabon.
As for music, lately I've been listening to a lot of Shakey Graves, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Sam Cooke. I love folksy music and indie/oldie dance tunes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I kayaked with Orca Whales in the San Juan Island, WA. That was pretty incredible Everything about the state of Washington blew me away.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Panama, Slovenia, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
