About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn as much as I can about the wondrous world and my part in it.

ABOUT ME

Capetonian at heart. Gastronaut and wanderer by choice. Safa on an adventure in Japan!

PHILOSOPHY

The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely or blame. The gift is yours- it is an amazing journey- and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. -Bob Moaward

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Please note: I am 2 hours away from Kagoshima city in a town in the countryside :)

I have a little apartment with some extra room.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met some superb people and really enjoyed hearing their stories, learning about their cultures and sharing my little town with them.

Interests

Mother nature and all that it has to offer, yoga, hiking, good food (making, discovering & enjoying it), wine, live music, traveling and good company- the simple things in life make my heart happy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Many! Currently keeping it local with some of Murakami's gems.

Music: classical, jazz, folk, indie, electronic, soft rock, blues.

I will give anything a chance... ;) Give me good tunes, a dance floor (be it a grass, sand or tile covered one), and I am a happy camper.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Decided to leave my comfy existence in the beautiful city of Cape Town and moved to rural Japan to teach English. It has been incredible- I have truly been challenged and grown in ways I never could have envisioned.

Recently experienced bio luminescence on a night swim at a beach here in Japan: mind-blowing experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

Some experience in the start up world and business incubators.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good food.
Music.
Local events.
My little town and all it has to offer.

Countries I’ve Visited

Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea

Countries I’ve Lived In
