About Me

Hello all :)

I'm a 24 year old American student/bartender/waitress, about to embark on quite an adventure. For as long as I remember, I have had the travel bug- always eager to explore new places and meet new people. I had an opportunity presented to me to Study abroad in Madrid with one of my great Spanish professors from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. I'm seizing the opportunity and will be backpacking for May through July 2016 (will be studying in Madrid for June). Whether it be over coffee or a beer (I hail from Milwaukee, Wisconsin- we know beer!), meeting up and having conversation is beautiful to me, especially with the digital world we live in. Let's meet and share!

I will be graduating from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee for Accounting, Finance and a minor in Spanish this coming December 2016. I had an internship this past winter, and was fortunate enough to have a job offer (audit accounting) with the company starting in January 2017 after I graduate. With this said- I'm taking this adventure as something like a 'last hurrah' (though, I know it won't be my last) before I'm shackled to a desk job for a few years. I am a kind hearted and naturally optimistic individual, who both works hard and enjoys having a good time. You'd be hard pressed to find things that I wouldn't try at least once- that is the adventurous/experience-thirsty side of me.

I visited Paris when I was only 14- old enough to remember it, but not really experience it as an adult would. Europe has been on my radar for quite some time now, and I'm excited (and slightly in disbelief) that I managed to put this trip together. I want to see as much of the world as I can! Other places that top my list: Thailand, Argentina, Peru, India, Australia... too many to list.

I live on the idea that positivity breeds positivity- that energy works sort of like a feedback loop. If you put more positivity into the world, more positive energy will make it's way back to you, and vice versa, the more negative energy you put out into the world, the more negative energy makes it way back to you. Living everyday being grateful attracts more things to be grateful for!

Thank you for reading, and safe travels to all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Exploring a city on your own is all fine and good, but in my opinion, immersing yourself in the culture will lead to a much more satisfying experience. Rather than walking the beaten path of tourists, I'd prefer to meet with locals, experience their culture, hear there stories, and hang out in their favorite places.

Interests

I may be studying the world of numbers- Accounting and Finance, but I am very interested and immersed with art as well. I value creativity just as much if not more than intelligence with numbers.

Live music :) - all of it, from rock, blues, electronic, pop, punk, acoustic, you name it. If it has a groove, I love it.
So of course.. dancing!
Painting
Drawing
Singing
Yoga
..I'm interested in studying aerial yoga as well, but am not yet experienced with it.

Music Festivals (will be going to Nowhere in Spain the first week of July)

Music, Movies, and Books

So Much! As far as music goes, I like pretty much everything, especially if listening to it live. I typically really enjoy different styles of electronic music, and have been known to stay up all night dancing. Currently I am loving the feel-good vibes of Tropical House (Check out: Goldfish, Autograf, Griz), and the funk of the Floozies. And of course, I always love the nostalgia of classic rock, a go-to.
