ABOUT ME
I'm a volunteer, I work in a youth center here in Madrid. I'm italian and I'm 25 years old
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
First reason: I don't want to travel like a tourist. I hate the tourist's way of thinking, because it's impossible to have real experiences and to have deep connections with the people you know. Life is just a long journey, and I think it's better to get involved at the 110%, and not to live like a tourist.
Second reason: I don't have money. At the moment I'm an European Volunteer, working in Madrid with the youngsters. I really would like to travel, to meet people, to see great places, and the existence of these network demonstrate the fact that money is not necessary to travel.
Third reason: Life is short and the world is beautiful.
Interests
My first interest is philosophy. I know, I know... boring, isn't it? Well, I promise I will not talk about Kant's Critiques if you don't ask! :)
The second interest is music. When I was in Italy, I worked in the radio of the University of Padova, RadioBue. I was the host of a radio show, a kind of mini-series of audio documentaries about great albums in the history of rock music. Favourite band? I think Husker Du.
The third interest: documentaries. Don't know why, but since I started the show in the radio, I watch a lot of documentaries. I think it's just amazing the fact that you can tell a story - it could be a simple but amazing story - and this can inspire other people to do something. My favourite filmmaker is Werner Herzog.
And, of course, I love read. I read a lot, maybe too much. At the moment I'm enjoying so much poetry. Don't know why... well yes, maybe I know. Since when I'm in Spain, i can read Pablo Neruda in spanish. And now I really feel, not just understand, but feel the beauty and the powerness of some poetries.
And... I love to travel. As I said, for me to live is to travel. Life is a journey, a short journey. But we have the chance to live in a beautiful world, and we have to discover and to enjoy it.
