Resumen
Sobre mí
I relatively new to Couchsurfing but I host a lot of Appalachian Trail thru-hikers who I pick up at the nearby Trail heads. I've couchsurfed in Italy, Portland, Kansas City, and Pittsburgh and was thankful for all of my wonderful experiences and new friends. While not all were on this website, therefore unable to leave reviews, I have many positive reviews on TripAdvisor from my innkeeping days.
I sold my B&B and closed in 2011 but you can still look up my reviews if you search The Glenwood House B&B. I am an artist, single mother and a successful entrepreneur. I'm currently attending university as a full-time student. I love learning and I believe we are never too old or too young to be students and/or teachers. I am inspired by my long walks in nature and my ongoing need to understand my environment and the people around me. There is a quote that I have spent the better part of my life believing that says, "Strangers are just friends I have yet to meet".
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I owned a B&B for 17 years and miss meeting travelers from around the world. I am an avid traveler myself and have always preferred having an in with the locals wherever I go.
Intereses
I enjoy painting, drawing, ceramics and sculpture but above all else, I love to travel and meet new people from other cultures. I am interested in archeology, astronomy, literature, ancient history, and art history. I love hanging out with friends at our local cafe. I often engage new people by asking random questions like "if you could have one super-power what would it be?" I enjoy serving as a bridge to bring people together in conversation and engagement. My hope is to make the world better one person at a time through personal engagement.

Música, películas y libros
Classical, alternative, blues, jazz and classic rock. I listen to EVERYTHING!
Algo increíble que he hecho
I try to do one amazing thing each day. I've flown a 1946 Taylorcraft, ridden in helicopters and a Stearman (old biplane from 1926), driven a snowmobile, slept under a car in the rain (not fun), camped in a cave in a snowstorm, organized volunteer forest and roadside clean-ups of garbage, spearheaded charity fundraisers, gotten a private tour of the 20th Century Limited historic train at midnight, hiked and camped the Appalachian trail with nothing but my hammock and light supplies, hosted celebrities in my home (not really amazing, but some find it thrilling) ...my life is so rich in experiences! I'm listed in a book called Curiosities of New York, I could keep going. You'll just have to ask me about it when we meet.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I teach painting, sculpture and different ways of engaging with the natural world.
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
Cheerful, entertaining stories, neat, tidy and respectful guest. I'm a terrible cook but I love to clean. I'm happy to do dishes (yes really! It's a form of meditation) and if you need a bit of help in the garden, rearranging furniture, hanging pictures or want to play at drawing, painting or sculpting let me know and we'll work it into our time together.
