Im an overworked underpaid PhD student, just moved at NYU in New York. I specialize into audio engineering and spatial surround sound. Its been now a few years that I flip like a ping pong ball across countries in Europe (now U.S.) while completing my studies and accumulating work experiences. My passport says Italy but my heart is multicolored.

There is a difference between a traveller and a tourist. I am a traveller. I like the spirit of sharing the little that we have, I like the idea of exploring a country from the inside, I like the idea of meeting new people, of learning cultural differences first-hand and have a laugh about it. I like the eye of the local, the mystery of the foreigner and the exchange of viewpoints developed in different worlds and built upon different experiences. I feel sick when I step into a 4-star hotel or when I find myself in resort villages...since I use couchsurfing I have discovered 'the salt' of the travel and the perfect way for me to learn about the places I visit, I cant consider a travel worth it unless I can build a connection with local people and get to understand what makes a place special for those living in it.

I have taught signal processing at Salford University in Manchester, but unless you want to die from confusion and boredom I suggest we move onto something else.

On the learning side, Im very open as long as you dont try to teach me about how to open a coconut with your head or how to drive with your eyes closed.

Ill even do your laundry for you or drive your car, pick your mother at the station, get some pizzas, sing you a song, cut your grass, visit your forgotten relatives at christmas, repair your roof and pretend that you are a great golf player. You name it, I do it.
