About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I guess my mission would be to live the best life I possibly can. To challenge and expand my own experience and bring positive energy to the other lives I encounter.

ABOUT ME

I started running a few years ago, so that is my main hobby now. I also try to get to the gym or to yoga a couple of times a week. I tried indoor rock climbing recently and look forward to doing more of that! I definitely believe a strong mind and a strong body go together. I also want to age gracefully. Quality of life is just as important than quantity.

I love to read and go to movies. I'm a pretty decent cook and I enjoy cooking, but I don't do it as often as I would like. I'm thinking about taking some cooking classes. I love being outside in the sunshine; that's why I live in San Diego.

PHILOSOPHY

This moment, right now...you only get one of those. Don't waste it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love living in San Diego, and enjoy the opportunity to share the city with people visiting. I have some favorite spots I love to go. I also enjoy discovering new things about the city with people who visit. Seeing the city with people who stay with me helps me see it in a new way.

By participating in CouchSurfing, we all do our little piece to connect our world in a postitive, enriching way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have enjoyed being able to meet and spend time with people who live in the places I visiting. My favorite aspect of CS is the way I am able to become connected to a place beacause someone who lives there shares the love of their city with me. Couch Surfing has given me a way to expand my world and make new friends I would have never met any other way.

Interests

Most of my couch surfing experiences have been amazing. I've met the most wonderful people and had the good fortune to share some time with them. There are too many stories to even begin...

  • cooking
  • yoga
  • marathon
  • running
  • movies
  • surfing
  • scuba diving
  • rock climbing
  • mathematics
  • physics

Music, Movies, and Books

"Life of Pi" and "Fight Club" are definitely on my list of favorite books. I'm also a Stephen King fan and have read almost everything he's written.
I like seeing movies in the theater; I really enjoy the whole experience of the big screen and the sound and being part of the audience. Watching videos at home just isn't the same. I don't have a particular preference in music; I like a lot of different things and enjoy encountering new artists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Half Dome at Yosemite, standing on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, running my first marathon, learning to SCUBA...waking up every morning to a new day full of possibility.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach math and physics. I do a little tutoring now, but I don't actively teach anymore. Sometimes I miss it.
I would like to learn massage and accupressure. I've looked into some classes, but haven't been able to work them into my schedule yet.
I'm currently learning Spanish.
