About Me

Here goes... We're a fun-loving Aussie couple of Chilean and Dutch descent, who, after working in the real world for a while, made a brash decision to leave it all behind and take off for a year or so to travel the world!

We've had the travel bug for a while, doing the longest trips we could whilst working or studying. Europe, Asia, the 2014 World Cup in Brazil... We would always be meeting these cool people who had taken a chance, and given up their day-to-day lives in order to live out their dreams by travelling long-term.

It was during that last trip that we realised: What would we regret more when 95 years old and lying on our death bed - that we had worked an extra year of our lives, or that we had let go of our fears, and gone out to see the world for a while? It's a no brainer right?

So that's exactly what we've done... We took off from home and work in December 2015, to explore and experience the rest of the world! In the last 8 months, we have had amazing, life-changing experiences whilst travelling through South and Central America. Plenty of stories to be told for sure...

Andre's definitely a mad soccer (football) fan, but keen observer of most sports, especially live American ones that I'd love to the chance to go see! Also enjoy the beach, movies and outdoor activities.

Alex is easy-going, a massive foodie who loves to cook (everything!!) and learn languages, and also loves the outdoors.

We would love the chance to stay with someone who could give us the "local" perspective on life in their city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We thought Couchsurfing would be a great way to connect with locals who have the best knowledge about where to eat, drink hangout etc. Also, staying with a local, it would be easier to connect and get to know people from all over the world.

We're super easy going and can get along with anyone and we also love meeting new people. We love having a few beers but not all about the party scene! We are all about new experiences, adventures and crafting tales to tell.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Bit of everything really, currently enjoying a lot of the latin tunes heard while travelling. Big fan of Chet Faker, Alt+J, Tame Impala, Flume, Disclosure, and those Indie-pop/house beats

Love going to Gigs while travelling, and also festivals, our last ones were Lollapalooza in Argentina, and Solar in Netherlands 2016

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam with Giant Sea Turtles in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. Such a surreal and humbling experience.
