Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Over the years we have found that we enjoy best those places where we have stayed with Couchsurfers. We have hosted and visited couchsurfer many times over the years. John, back in South Africa, where he was an English teacher. Andrea, in 2013, while travelling the American Midwest.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Our experience go back to 2007, when Andrea's friend introduced a couchsurfer in Seville, Spain. After eating some tapas we decided he will spend a couple of days with us in our apartment. It was a very positive experience.
Every time is a different, reach interaction that opens a little window to someone else's world. And it's always a beautiful, charming view.
Interests
John and Andrea enjoy biking, travelling with their van and exploring new places, reading (more than one book at a time) and cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music we enjoy: of course, Björk and Radiohead. But also Portishead, Vive la Fête, Coco Rosie and Goran Bregovic.
A few books we had enjoyed over the years: Paul Auster (the comic version of "City of glass" it was quite good) Alesandro Barico, Sergio Pitol and the spanish writer Ray Loriga. Andrea grew up with Asterix and Obelix comic, fantastic!
Great movies we have seen: Woddie Allen films ( not that much Vicky, Kristina, Barcelona), Isabel Coixet ones ("La vida secreta de las palabras", "Elegy" ...) Emir Kusturica ones ( "Black cat White cat").
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
How hard to pick one! When we were sailing in north east Panama, we discovered that the owner of the ship it was much more than someone who sales with tourist. He use to work for Doctors Without Borders, the French NGO. It was wonderful to get to heard about his experience with the entity. Very magical and human.
Teach, Learn, Share
Andrea can teach you how to cook a Spanish omelette and John can teach how to prepare Gambo ( topical Louisiana dish). Delicious!
