I'm a young easy going German who likes to be outdoors and is always searching for new challenges. In the past I have been traveling with my family to a lot of great places around the world. Now I'm traveling on my own and I like it :D
Currently I'm cycling through the south island of New Zealand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started couchsurfing in New Zealand and stayed with a lot of awsome people so far! All in all I want meet great people from all over the world, getting inspired by their storys and style of living and having fun together.

Interests

In my free time I do white water kayaking on rivers up to grade III-IV. Apart from that, I'm playing alto and bartione saxophone in a big band. Recently I started to do sports climbing, especially bouldering. I like cycling, camping and have done a lot of hiking trips in the Alps and New Zealand so far.

I do some voluntary work in a local youth organisation where I organised weekend events and sometimes summer camps for children. In my kayak club I'm in place of a youth leader and trainer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Due to my interest I enjoy all kinds of swing, especially electro swing (Parov Stelar, Bart&Baker, etc.)
One of my favorite books is "Cloud Atlas", so do I like the movie of it.
In addition, I like books with psychological and philosophical background as well as those which are based on historical happenings.
I also enjoyed "Interstellar", "Amelie" "Life of Pi" and "Howl's moving castle"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving down the Soca river, Slovenia, in a kayak, having a lot of fun in the white water and enjoying the beautiful nature in Soca valley.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm trying to improve my kayak skills in order to drive down waterfalls and going on rivers with a higher difficulty. I can teach you the basic skills of white water kayaking and I can also take you in a dual boat on light white water (If I have the gear available) .

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not bad in cooking so if you want to, I can prepare a meal. If you want to learn white water kayaking, I can teach you the basic skills.
