About Me

I've been a full time traveller (mostly backpacking through Asia) since 2017, and I am now a resident of Sri Lanka, where I co-own a restaurant together with a local person. I love discovering new cultures, trying new foods, and meeting new people.
On a typical day, I will try to make friends with new people at the hostel (or maybe with my host on Couchsurfing?) and go explore the city, looking for historical sights, nature spots, or cultural activities to take part of. In the night, you might find me partying from time to time, but it's more likely that I will be making conversation at a chill table, or just in my room watching a movie.
I've recently started getting more into the hiking culture and would like to do a longer throu-hike in the near future, so if that's something you're also interested in let me know when we communicate on the app and I will be happy to do a trail in your area together!
I have been taking photos on a semi-professional camera for a few years now, but I hate the whole social media thing, so most of them have just been sitting on my hard drive without being shared. I'm now trying to transition to videography to start making documentaries so that I will finally have content in a form that I would be happy for other people to see.
Currently starting a new trip in Central and south America, moving south by land starting from Mexico.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing makes it easier to get to know local people, which in turn make travelling so much more purposeful and enjoyable! I hope to be able to host myself once I will stop leading a nomadic lifestyle, but for now, being hosted allows me to enjoy the company of the people on this platform who are usually fellow travellers with very interesting life stories.

Interests

I love to travel slowly (when i can) and enjoy the local culture. I hope to continue travelling for as long as I can!

Music, Movies, and Books

Rock, City pop, ambient, progressive. Herman Hesse is my favourite author, and I will love you if you listen to Japanese music from the '70s! I also enjoy discovering new music so I encourage you to show me your favourite artists when we meet and I will probably enjoy them,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing multiples Dalai lama lectures in Dharamshala, India and scuba diving in many amazing spots across 3 continents are the first two that come to mind. But the most amazing thing to do is always the next one on the list!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always happy to do some volunteering, particularly as an English teacher. Apart from that, I'm sure that from politics to TV series, we'll find something new and something dear in each other!
I'm also never leaving the house without my camera on me, so hopefully you'll get some good pictures of yourself if you have some free time to join me on a day out.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My time and attention and every past experience that I can share. Also I can cook some decent Italian food, or can help you practice your language skills if that is something you're interested in!
