Overview
About Me
My name is Andy, I'm 31 years old. Currently I'm living in Vienna.
I'm a social worker by profession, working with young people offering psychological consultation. I also do part time teaching of social work at university. In my free time I do like to be active. I'm into sports [running, tennis, biking...] and meeting friends to hangout. I do also enjoy reading books and newspapers as well as watching movies and series. I'm a coffee lover as well, so you would find me often in my favourite places around Vienna just relaxing over a cup of good coffee.
Please do not send me copy-paste requests. It is important to me that you take some effort to write a personal message, mentioning some aspects of my profile we can conncet on. If you are traveling with somebody else please give some information about the other person in your request as well. Thank you in advance.
To everyone who would like to visit Vienna, here are my recommendations what to see:
Rathaus + Parlament
Both town hall and parliament are right in the city center. Both are freshly renovated. At parliament there is a public area you can visit for free during the opening hours.
Universität Wien
It's the oldest university in central Europe and it's the biggest university in the german speaking world.
Schloss Schönbrunn
It's the biggest castle in the city a bit outside of the center. The building itself is beautiful but even more impressive is the huge garden area behind the castle. It's definitly a must see visiting Vienna.
Schloss Belvedere
It's the second biggest castle in the city and also a museum of classical art. It's located in the 4th district.
Albertina Museum
The most well known calssical art museum in town. You'll find it in the 1st district directly next to the opera house.
Naschmarkt
It's the biggest market place in town in the 4th district of Vienna. It's a great place to get food and drinks as well as great quality products to cook at your own place. It's also just great to walk around there and enjoy a nice day.
Donaukanal
It's part of the river danube going throuch the city center. In summer it's the go to place for taking a beer with friends and hangout at the water. In winter is's nice to walk along the canal or go for a run. It's also one of the view places in the city where graffiti is allowed. So there's a lot of cool stuff to see there as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been on Couchsurfing some time ago for close to 3 years. I've surfed and hosted a lot in this time but due to Covid I've closed my account. Now I'm back on Couchsurfing cause I do like the spirit of this platform. I do like to meet people and share experiences and good times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A great experience I was lucky to make was my stay in Ethiopia a couple of years ago. It has been my only time outside of Europe so far. I've been involved in an NGO doing water supply project in the Oromia region. So I was able to get to know not only Addis Abeba but also the courtry side and the people living in the communities there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can definitly share walks around the city and some explanations about the history of Vienna. Also I can teach you some Austrian sign language if you're interested in. Due to the fact that I've been a barista in former times, I can also share some knowledge about coffee.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share good company as well as reliability.
