About Me

Ecce Homo! A pilgrim on his way.

I am born and raised in Cyprus, with roots from Slovakia and Hungary.
I spent 4 years in the Netherlands for university and I took my chances to move to Munich and start my first job here. Some say Munich is boring, but there is an abundance of things you can do :)

I think I finally (kinda) have some space to offer to guests. I hope that they will forgive the minimalism of my material possesions, for the sake of my heart's abundance and joys ;)

But I hope to also see you outside of Munich, while I am travelling. So may our paths cross joyfully!

He who climbs upon the highest mountains, laughs at all tragedies, real or imaginary.
To have attained emancipation, in any form, that is the fate of the wanderer, that wills everything, becomes everything and says Yes to life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The culture of Couchsurfing seems to open up a world of possibilities.
Betwixt kindness and insanity, people let you into their homes for the sake of making life a bit more worth living.

The triggering event for joining CS is my backpacking journey during Christmas 2022. It is a tough period in general, so in tough times you take a look around and you see people extending their palms towards you. By now I realize that it is a platform I will use for a lifetime.

Interests

I am interested in everything towards harmonizing the body and the spirit.
Other days, justifying the world as an aesthetic phenomenon.

So I love to dance, to sing - sometimes elegantly, other times not so much.
I spent my days laughing, in calculated bliss, with good humour and good friends.
And literally any sport or time outside in nature. I'd love to go to the mountains with you as well, it's what I like to do every weekend (new week, new peak)...

Music, Movies, and Books

Classical (especially the Romantics, the Germans and the Italians), Rock, Experimental Folk, Rebetika, Folk Rock, Blues, Reconstructionism, Sea Shanties, Mongolian Throat Singing, Yugoslavian, Heavy metal, Electronic, Disco, synth or heavy metal clarinet... you name it.

Books: There is an art in not reading them (after a point of saturation)... but I am doing my fair share focusing mostly in Classical Greek and German Philosophy. And from that I find the poetry to be the most valuable to be honest. I can say that I am self-actualized as a poet-philosopher: I hold the reins of my worldview, with respect to Heraclitus, Nietzsche, and their aesthetic view of the world, their work is one that I continue in a highly personal manner.

(There's always more to it: Kafka, Pindar, Borges, Rilke, Kavafy, Palamas, Camus, Epicurus, Ovid, Horatio, Lucretius, Thucydides, Kerouac, Bukowski, Eco, Mishima, Jünger, Jacobsen, Chekov, La Rouchefoucauld and Emerson are pretty cool.)

True beauty is something that attacks, overpowers, robs and finally destroys. That said, I see violence in art, the beautiful and dangerous truth of humanity, the only truth that is possible.

Physicality, athleticism, war, competition, the Body - these are the fundamental realities of the human experience - everything else flows from there.

Increscunt Animi, virescit volnere virtus.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I never stayed static.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am ready to embark on whatever crazy idea you have.
Adventure, adrenaline, foolishness? I am your man.
Knowledge, ideas, controversy? I am present.
Harmony, humour and good spirit? Do not hesitate.
We leave a different person, from every interaction.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, laugh very loudly, dig holes and trenches 4 meters deep, chop down some wood, start a campfire, recite obscure ancient poems out of nowhere, take care of a flock of sheep, sing along to any tune, dance along to any tune, tame forest fires, run up a hill (run out of breath), ascend a mountain (fast), drop randomly to do pushups with you, jump into a frozen lake, chug copious amounts of milk, fix your bike, fix your computer, exchange our languages, bake you some pitas, pick your grapes, olives and oranges... In that order?
I don't know if this covered everything...

Countries I’ve Visited
