About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting to know others and myself.

ABOUT ME

I like to laugh - and I enjoy deep and personal conversations. Sometimes, I am a bit shy and it needs some time until I open up more.

I love to get to know people of different cultures, listen to the sound of their language and experience their country. Generally, I like to get to know people and their way of living and thinking.

Sometimes, I like to write storys, sometimes I like to be in the nature. I love to watch puppetry, in the old or in a modern way (some years ago I did my own little performance as application for puppetry studies). For five months now I love to play the piano - as far as I can yet (this was my dream since I was a child).

I believe in God, but definitely without any missionary attitude - yet I am very keen to get to know what people are living from, what searches they are about in their lives.

In these days, I am very keen to get to know more about the roots of my father. This moves me since my childhood - that he had to leave his home as a 4-year-old child. I am wondering why my some of my best friends have a similar background or are from Eastern European Countries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a "beginner" and yet I have no experience. Two friends of mine are fond of C.S. Nevertheless I haven't travelled with Couchsurfing, I spent five weeks with a friend's family in Israel, about a year in Nottingham (England), and some weeks in Ireland, France, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Denmark.

Interests

Singing, listening, getting to know music from the culture of the land, personal history, films, art, books, nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like films which emotionally touch me - but also the Star Trek Series(which actually is no contradiction, I think). I like if they have a combination of humour and depth. E.g. I do love: As in Heaven (Swedish film), Once, Beyond Silence, The Shawshank Redemption, The Soloist, The Company you keep. Lately, I bought some Czech films - I need to watch them first.

Books - I love for example: Books by Rafik Shami, Ursula Hahn, The shack and Cross Roads by W.P. Young. Right now, I am very touched by the book The red Nepomuk by Josef Holub (unfortunatly available just in German).

Music - this changes always a bit. Now, I love the new CDs by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova and some symphonic music (Sibelius) and the harp concert by Mozart.
