About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet amazing people from all corners of the globe, make connections, and learn new ways of relating to the world
ABOUT ME
The essentials run something along the lines of the following: I live in Seattle and am married to an amazing woman named Ariel Stallings. We have little two year old boy, which is part of why I'm not able to host as much currently. I teach yoga and circus arts for a living, but also love things like making music, traveling, hanging out with friends at festivals, and trying to have as many lasting, memorable experiences as I can. During the 90s I ran a bookstore called RaverBooks where we sold, yes, books about Rave culture. I got my degree in music technology from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA where I hung out with hippies and spent long stretches of time in the recording studios trying to figure out how it all works. I was born in Montana, spent some years living in Germany, and even braved L.A. for a while. The rest of who I am is all debatable. You’ll just have to figure out for yourself.
PHILOSOPHY
Changes all the time. Not sure even I understand it. Try and do good and have fun along the way?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Just starting out, so not much yet
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've traveled around Europe several times taking advantage of all the couches I could find. Most of the places I travel to in the U.S. I end up finding a spare couch to sleep on. I never stay in a hotel if I can help it. I like the connections that are formed when you share space with people during travel. Have breakfast as you are waking up in the morning, and talk late into the night over some glasses of wine.
Interests
I'm totally obsessed with anything music or circus related. Reading, travel, rock climbing, soccer, world history, any kind of science really. I find the world interesting and want to know more of it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Some of my favorites at the moment are Ott, Gogol Bordello, Balkan Beat Box, Seal's new album, Desert Dwellers, Junkie XL, Ryoksop and oh so much more
Books: Reading a history of Berlin right now that's pretty interesting. Am slogging through Die Liebhaberinnen in German though finding that pretty depressing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Was staying with some friends in Provence a couple years ago and a massive storm blew in during an evening of drinking and talking, cutting out all the electricity. Crazy lightning and showers. We brought out guitars, anything to bang on, and sang at the top of our voices, making music while the lightning raged. It was pure bliss.
