We are two danish guys: Rasmus (the guy with the beard) and Andreas (the one without a beard).
We have been friends since we started university and are finishing our bachelors degrees in Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark in Copenhagen. We are both 24 years old and live in student dorms in Copenhagen. We have our own room but share a kitchen with 14 other people, so we love to socialize with all kinds of people which is what we also aim to do on Couchsurfing.

Andreas has done lots of travlling in many different countries and have used Couchsurfing many times before. Rasmus is new to Couchsurfing but is no stranger to travelling at all. Together we have hitchhiked several times as we arrange hitchhiking competetions between Universities in Copenhagen. The last trip was this easter where we hitchhiked to Ukraine, Lviv, and took a 2nd place!

This summer however we are planning a 1,5 months trip through Europe using hitchhiking. Currently the plan is to make our way down to Corsika to hike across the island whereafter we would like to head towards Albania. But honestly our plans are pretty loose, so we could end up pretty much any where! ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love meeting new people and experiencing different cultures, and what better way to do it than by meeting someone who is local?

Interests

Andreas:
I am a bit of a workout freak. I love doing weightlifting and anything which gets my pulse up, which have also gotten me into doing Crossfit. Besides this I have a urge for adventure and anything which can challenge me. This is also why I after high school choose to travel for 2 years alone through Southeast Asia, Philippines, Australia, India, Kyrgyzstan and Iran. This only fuelled my urge and have since been challenging myself with different smaller adventures. Lastly I love taking photographs (though not very good at it yet), hanging out with friends and having a few beers, trying out new food!

Rasmus:
I like being active in anyway and to be outside. I love any kind of activity with a ball, being best friends the ball my whole life. I love hiking and camping in the woods cooking over the bonfire, and the primitive life in general attracts me. My big passion is skiing and after finishing high school I did two winter seasons working as a tour guide in the Alps. If only Denmark had mountain….
Im very curious in general and like trying out new stuff. Different stuff. New beers, new food, new ways to travel and love meeting new people. I socialize with people a lot, and do enjoy a good conversation and a laugh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Andreas: I bought a old Belarusian motorbike in Vietnam and rode 3200 km through the country for 45 days.

Rasmus: Climbing Mount Temple in Canada as a rookie in shorts. Turned out to be pretty cold on top.

Teach, Learn, Share

We would love to teach you about our culture and the Scandinavian people but just as well like to learn as much as possible about your country/history. Besides this we reckon we're decent company so we'll probably have a few laughs and some fun! And if you have something which is broken we are two mechanical engineers at your service ;)
