About Me

Born in Korea, adopted to a Swedish family and grew up on the Swedish island Gotland, situated in the middle of the Baltic Sea. At the age of 19, I moved to the town of Kalmar to study sociology and later to Lund to study journalism. Since 2005 I have been living in the southern corner of Sweden. During this period I have been traveling frequently to many Asians countries, mostly in Southeast- and South Asia. Since 2010 I have been on at least 3-4 journeys each year to the Asian continent. My journeys are often related to some work assignment but I love to meet new people, hang out and catch the atmosphere wherever I go.

Interests

Writing, discussing about social issues, sharing ideas and perspectives all day long. I like to hang out with friends, drinking coffee or a bottle of red wine. I also like to sit in a bia hoi-corner in Hanoi or sip on a chai tea in Kerala.

Music, Movies, and Books

As a late teenager I was very much into indie pop music à la Velvet Underground. Nowadays, in my 30's, I'm more flexible. Swedish bands as Kent and Bob Hund for always have a special place in my heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been stranded for 20 hours when the river boat broke down on Mekong River, somewhere between the town of Huay Xai and Luang Prabang in Laos.

I have seen the sun rise over the cliffs in Halong Bay, Vietnam and I have seen the magical light on Fårö island an early morning during the Swedish summer.

But I still think the most amazing things are yet to come...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you the off-the-beaten-track-trails of Gotland island in the Baltic Sea. Or I'm great in showing you around in Hanoi and Halong Bay, Vietnam. I can also cook.

I think all knowledge should be exchanged. Perhaps that's why I try to contribute as a university teacher in Sweden.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Cambodia, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Italy, Laos, Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Vatican City State, Åland Islands

Countries I’ve Lived In
