Overview
About Me
Easy- and outgoing guy, who is never far from giving away a big smile and a laugh.
In 2012 I took a year off from my studies to go living in New Caledonia for 9 months to meet new people, learn a new culture and to learn the French language! This trip was way out of the ordinary and I ended up being a famous street musician, invited on TV shows, etc., hitchhiking around the islands and staying with the inhabitants.
In the spring of 2015 I did the same thing in the Caribbean: The islands of Guadeloupe, Montserrat and Martinique.
Now I work as a full-time high school teacher, but I am dreaming of my next long voyage.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The Couchsurfing project is the easiest, simplest person-to-person culture exchange project there is. This allows for everyone to explore the world and discover that we're not so different after all. It sounds overly idealistic and naïve, but in my perspective this is the key to world peace.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living as an AFS exchange student in New Zealand for a year back in 2003, far from friends and family changed me a lot and really gave me the energy and courage to try new things and throw myself into the unknown. This is what I did again for 9 months in 2012 but this time without an organisation, all by myself, which truly was an even more extreme experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching and working with young people, and I have recently finished my master degree on the way to become a secondary school teacher of chemistry and biology.
During my studies I have been working as a teacher, teacher aid and tutor of chemistry, biology, mathematics and english at secondary school level and chemistry and biochemistry at university level.
Volunteering for AFS Intercultural Programs has also brought me into discussing and teaching intercultural learning and the challenge of integrating into a society with a different culture-base, with 15-18 year old exchange students coming to Denmark for a year from all over the world.
