About Me

I think that I should, first of all, explain why i'm on Chouchsurf. Since I started traveling around, it became clear to me that, the more comfortable i'm in a place, less I learn about it. Of course, getting up on a cozy bed in a hotel room with a breakfeast of a god doesn't sound so bad, but, to me, that is not the ideal way of traveling. When i'm in another place, I want to discover and explore, and I realized that the best way to do it, is to be with people that lives in there, or, at least, know the place. This scenario is just perfect for learning about the country or city I'll be going, since i'm not only learning about the place, but i'm living it. So, now that we got that out of the way, I'll explain who I'am. First of all, i'm a very echletic person, I know, who, in couchsurf, isn't? But I really am. I just want to have a good exchange of cultures and points of view. I find it exciting to know people that are different than me, and I'm a person that likes to learn from others. I like to go to bars and to parties, I like to stay at home and watch a movie, or just wander around in a cold night with a good companion to talk to. I study Geography in São Paulo, and I really like it, so I study a lot. I'am also a very artistic person, I like to write, to draw, to play the guitar, to discover new ways of expressing myself. I'am a vegetarian, but relax, I believe that is an option and if you are not, that is your option, I won't try to convert you. As for my professional experience, I worked as a Bartender for an year and now I work in a school as a Geography Teacher, and I love it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As you can see, I have only traveled to Argentina, but in this december I intend to change that by traveling to Europe. I pretend to arrive on Paris in the 8th of december and I really want to meet new places and new cultures. Who doesn't? But I think that the differencial in couchsurfing is the fact that I can learn much more about the country that i'm into than in hotels. I think that hotels create an artificial experience, where the local culture is pretty much supressed, in order to make the guests feel more "comfortable". I'm really running away from that. The more I can learn about the country, the more I will enjoy. And that's probably the best thing about couchsurfing. Most people think that the fact that is a cheaper way to travel, makes it much better, but the real gain is the experience of visiting a new place and get to live the culture of that place.

Interests

As I said, I read a lot, I like to watch movies, going to bars, doing exercises like playing football or going to the gym. I really like hanging out with my friends, anywhere we go. I think that what makes the place fun it's the company, not the place itself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of rock, but I also enjoy lots of different kinds of music, like MPB(Brazilian Popular Music) and others. As for books, Gabriel García Marquez is, by far, my favorite writer, but I read everything. Kerouac, Mia Couto, Brazilian writers, Hemmingway, etc. I like more introspective movies, I'm not really into that super hero stuff that everyone watches. I preffer to watch a movie that will make me fell something more than just adrenalin.
