About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Back in Sweden. Keen on meeting local CSers and of course international ones.

ABOUT ME

Thanx for stopping by. My name is André and I'm 40 years old. I'm a cool and easy to get along with guy. I live in Sweden in the city of Malmö. Personally, I don't think Malmö is much to look at, but when you visit my city, you'll get two cities. You see, Copenhagen is only 35 minutes away by metro :). It is a very nice city to visit, and it offers a lot to do and to see.

====================WHEN I SURF WITH YOU====================As a guest, I'm low-maintenance, pleasant, respectful, independent and self-sufficient. I can be quiet or lively and involved - whatever each situation calls for. I try to be the kind of guest that I'd like to host myself. For me, CouchSurfing is never about a free place to sleep. It's about the whole experience: making connections with others and learning about a place through local eyes.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe diem! C'est la vie! Better late then never! Never say never! Better safe than sorry! For the most important people in the world - the CHILDREN! Choose the thing that has more positives than negatives!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am open for discussions. Love meeting new people of all kinds. Discussing different views in philosophy, politics and other topics, is something I love.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started couchsurfing with my brother in Montreal Toronto and New York. After that I've couchsurfed by myself in Australia (Canberra and Brisbane), and Hong Kong.

Music, Movies, and Books

The best movie I have ever seen and that I STRONGLY recommend to everybody is City of God. Or as the original title is Cidade de Deus. This is actually the name of a favela=ghetto in Rio de Janeiro and it exists. I found it on Google Earth.

Most of director Wong Kar Wais work, especially In the Mood for Love and 2046. A list of other VERY good movies, would include Vidocq, Brotherhood of Wolves , Casino, Goodfellas, The Machinist, Vertigo, Carandiru, Tropa de Elite, Tropa de Elite 2 and Black Cat, White Cat.

I watch quite a few TV series, but my favourite TV series is LOST and Game of Thrones.

When it comes to music, I especially love trance. A very good site, where one can listen to different kinds of electronic music, is www.di.fm

There's three books that I wanna read some day. I have heard so much about these books that I wanna read them. The titles of these books are: George Orwell 1984, Sun Tzu-The art of war and Mein Kampf.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling is and always will be an incredible experience.

Someone VERY old once told me: Son, when you're gonna lay in your bed, very old and close to dying, you're not gonna regret that you didn't buy that house, car, clothes or electronic products, etc. You'll be regretting that you didn't travel more. So travel as much as you can in your life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that I'll learn something new from every person I'll meet during my lifetime. Either something small, something big or something in between, doesn't matter which. I'll share not just my home with a CS surfer but also my city. Both when hosting or couchsurfing, I'll also share my knowledge in films, music and video games and recommend good stuff that you might like. Since I love conversating, I'm sure that this way we'll both learn something from each other.

When couchsurfing myself, I always wanna learn how the standard of living is in the country where I'm couchsurfing. Both how the job market is, the real estate market, and the financial situation. I believe that you can tell A LOT, about the standard of living in a country, if you look at the standard of living for its' working class.
