About Me

So, who am i?
As it might be obvious, my name is Andrej. Im a computer science engineer from Serbia, and a photographer, who's in love with exploring, and learning new things all the time.
I try to go anywhere, if there is a possibility at the time, and my goal is to see and do as much as possible during my lifetime.

📷 Apart from computers, as i said, i love photography. Currently im into documentary and portraits, but during my involvement with this art, i've tried many different paths, and now have settled on these two. I'd love to talk more about photography, and art in general, so that could be a conversation on its own.

🎧 If there could be only one thing in my life i'd categorize as the most important, it would be music. There is just something so refreshing and reassuring in the sound of music for me, that it basically drives my whole life by now. I love almost anything, but am more into something harder (at least for now), like psychedelic rock, rock in general, metal, but can, and always will love jazz, blues, country.

💻 Yes, computers, computer science. Im a full time software engineer. My current obsession is with mathematics and artificial intelligence, so there is that. If there's a big enough nerd out there wanting to talk about this area.... here, i'm here. Also html is not a programming language, but htmx is rather cool.

🏃‍♂️ Want to talk about sports? i've been doing parkour for the past 7+ years in Serbia. There's a lot more to Parkour than just jumping from one roof to another, and i want to spread that knowledge. To me, this is a discipline more than a sport, and i hold a strong philosophical thinking when it comes to this topic.

🗣️ Do you have something you want to share, that you think will blow my mind? Do it! There isn't a thing i don't want to know, so feel free to share anything and everything if you feel up to it. On my side i can assure i will do the same. The only awkward situation will only be the one in your head, and don't let that stop you.

😨 Social anxiety. Yes, even though i love doing CS i have a problem with social anxiety. I love people on CS and meeting up with new people around the world, but it can be hard sometimes when it comes to initiating the conversation. As soon as that conversation has started, the problem is gone, and everything is normal. I still adore talking basically anything and sharing our experiences any way we can.

Other than that, there's a lot more that we could at least talk about (when not sightseeing or doing basically anything else). Feel free to contact me here on the app, ask for a meetup or, if nothing, for an advice if in Belgrade or Serbia in general.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why not?!
I've always loved meeting people, and learning about their travels, lives, and then sharing my personal experiences.
Im unable to host people, but public events, hangouts or whatevs seem really nice for broadening your views and knowledge.

Everyone is accepted here to spend time, chill put, grab a beer or just walk for hours.

Interests

Im a passionate photographer and computer scientist. Besides that, whenever i have some free time, i love to travel, learn, and meet people.

Im a big music fan, and enjoy listening to almost everything and learning more about music, traditions, and science behind it.

What parkour has thought me is to always be open minded, so that's why i put it here as one of my biggest interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been backpacking around Serbia with my girlfriend for 15 days and spent under 75e per person.
Done a similar thing in Portugal, and in Malta.

- I've held multiple photography exhibitions around Serbia, won awards, and sold photos.

- Have organized multiple parkour Jams around Belgrade and in Macedonia once.

- As someone who's been trying to stay up to date with technology, i've had multiple opportunities to be on television because of the projects i've made with my tech team.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
- I could teach you loads of stuff about parkour, photography, my culture and how to travel like a pro cheapskate.

Learn:
- Honestly, i don't have much time to research politics around the world, but i just love them so much. If anyone is willing to talk about that, and maybe even teach me something new, im more than happy to listen and get myself involved.

- Another thing.... id really love to learn more about beer types, and beers in general, so if you feel like you can enlighten me don't be shy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

All of the above, but, to me most importantly, respect.
There's a chance that when i request from someone to host me, i might be stinky and tired due to the way i travel usually, so that's one thing to be aware of 😂

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey
