About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before! (I had to write it, sorry... If you get the reference, bonus points for you! ;))

ABOUT ME

Greetings! Honestly, I have no idea what I am doing here- I am a very quiet person and I don't think it matches your typical CS profile. But my best friend does it, and he met some interesting people this way, so I figured- why not? ;p

I have a pretty big room in Kraków with a large and quite comfy couch, very close to the Main Square, so I will definetely host some people once I am back from my half-year stay in Spain.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Basically, because my friend told me to- we were planning on visiting Germany and he wanted our host to see the person he was bringing in. That trip was great- to be honest, it was the first time I was abroad without my family. And it had woken something inside of me... Now I am writing these words, sitting in the middle of one of the most beatiful cities in Europe, and the only thing I can think of is which country or region to visit next...

Interests

Nothing original here- some good books, some good video games, some TV series to pass time. As far as sports are concerned, I love playing basketball (unfortunately, I suck at it) and swimming+snorkeling. I have a guitar and am planning on learning to play it. Some day...
Thanks to my cousin, I had taken the dust off my bicycle and now I consider myself an amateur cyclist- I have even been twice to Massa Critica in Barcelona, and plan to organise a bicycle trip around Poland (or Lesser Poland, if the former will prove to difficult).

Music, Movies, and Books

In general, I don't listen to music... Yeah, I know it's a heresy ;D But that doesn't mean I don't like any. My best friend is a fan of rap, my other best friend is a heavy metal fan, and I am influenced a little by both- I even went to some concerts with them. I personally have a fondness for 80s pop music- I know it's campy as hell, but it has this charm and magic that appeals to me (fact that I grew up playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City also helps)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Deciding on going abroad for half a year with Erasmus+ programme... While certainly not "amazing" by any standards, it was a big step for me and, despite some hiccups, I am glad that I took it.

Teach, Learn, Share

It is always interesting just to encounter people from other cultures- for example, two of my flatmates were Chinese and it was educating to see how differently they perceived the world from me or other Europeans in the flat. We used to spend hours in the kitchen talking about our cultures, and it was one of the nicest experiences of my stay in Bcn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A laugh :) I can also teach some basic Polish phrases, but I doubt it will be of any use to anyone, other than reading Sienkiewicz or Sapkowski in their original versions. Unless my plans for world domination will pan out one day!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, England, Germany, Hungary, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine
