Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To settle down and find my spot.
ABOUT ME
I like the taste of a good organic coffee in the morning.
And I like the smell of spring after a long winter. It is that smell when you step outside one morning and suddenly you notice that the icy air gave way to this life-filled air and you feel like some plans want to be made and some places to be seen!
PHILOSOPHY
I am a pretty liberal minded guy. 'Live and let live' one might say. Although this over-simplifies and serves more as a statement of tolerance than a general philosophy of mine. I believe empathy is just as important and needed. Sympathy and curiosity will follow!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I started CS in 2009 it was more about surfing peoples places. Now I can host more due to my living and working circumstances. But both are great!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Through CS I discovered a lot of interesting places on the Balkans, in Central Europe and Germany; I met people I wouldn't have met otherwise and I am grateful for that.
As far as I can see CS is a wonderful thing to have on this planet and I am sure it helps to facilitate international (as well as national or regional) communication and understanding a lot!
Interests
Cultural sciences, philosophy, history and political theory interest me a lot ( that's why I studied them at university). Besides that: photography, technical history, aeronautics and astronautics, traveling of course, literature and music. And I like to ride the mountain bike a lot. Longer tours with overnight stays are a lot of fun.
Music, Movies, and Books
I generally love books on philosophy, latest history and politics as well as good belletristic. Good movies are always welcome. That includes old ones from the 1920's as well! (e.g. by Murnau or Lang) I do like the Simpsons (seasons 1 through 10 preferably - not the younger ones, I think they lost momentum). And for the German speaking ones among us: Elsterglanz!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
From September 2011 to March 2012 I was on my graduation trip through Asia, which pretty much amazed me every day.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can prepare a quite savoury potato soup! Typical German style!
