Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A few years ago I came home to my apartment and found 2 young women sitting in the courtyard with all their travel packs. They had arranged to stay with a gentleman from CS who apparently lived in my building. They had no way to contact him and he was not home for hours from when they had agreed to meet. I couldn't let them stay outside any longer and I invited them in. They stayed with me for a few days, then left their bigger bags while they went on a smaller weekend trip, and came back for them before flying back to Germany. They were so sweet and lovely, and the connection would have never been possible without Couchsurfing. What a wonderful community.
