About Me

I'm just a 21 year old guy who lives in Mexico and loves music, football, photography, playing the drums, cooking, hiking, movies and traveling. Ever since I was a young boy I have been fascinated by the amount of countries and cultures there are. I started learning all the countries and the capitals of the world with the hope of visiting them at some point. I guess traveling is the best way to learn about anything in life. I am amazed by how many extraordinary people you get to meet and how they may share you some of the most valuable lessons in life. I really enjoy going out and I also try to spread positivity and energy.

I'm about to travel to Argentina for three months (May - Aug). You can check out my Instagram @andres.torres98 to see some of my adventures and photographs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really think that the meeting new people is one of the most valuable things when traveling. Couchsurfing really helps to connect with other people and learn more about the country you are visiting. I am also on Couchsurfing because I think locals will always give you the best recommendations for practically everything. This is really useful when traveling alone to a place you've never been. Plus it's free.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm going to list my top three in each category.
- Music Artists
1. U2. Grew up listening it with my dad and I mean, it's U2.
2. Oasis. Monumental guitar riffs, Liam Gallagher's voice and amazing songs.
3. Sigur Rós. They probably have the most beautiful songs. Just listen to Untitled 3.
Honorable Mentions: Radiohead, Muse and The Beatles.

- Movies
1. The Dark Knight. Christopher Nolan is by far my favorite director and Heath Ledger does some of the best acting ever.
2. Whiplash. The music and acting of J.K. Simmons is outstanding, plus Damien Chazelle is an amazing director.
3. Ray. Ray Charles' life was astonishing and Jamie Foxx does one of the best interpretations ever.
Honorable Mentions: Inception, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Roma.

- Books
1. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wild. Wilde's writing style is unique. The characters in the story are outstanding.
2. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. Read it at the perfect time of my life.
3. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. First "must read book" that I read as a teenager.
Honorable Mention: You Are Here by Thich Nhat Hanh and Moneyball by Michael Lewis.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably my volunteering experience in Colombia for a month and a half.

Teach, Learn, Share

Willing to teach Spanish and English and even some cooking. Can also teach Mexican history for anyone who is interested. I would love to learn practically anything interesting about the country I am visiting.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my positive attitude and can collaborate with different chores or tasks that the host may need. I can also share plenty about my country and its culture. I think Mexico is a really cool place. I will always try to help with anything that it's needed and will always show respect towards my hosts and their home. I have pretty good cooking skills and can definitely prepare some typical Mexican dishes.
