Overview
About Me
I’ve got to preface my profile by saying that I’ve been on hiatus for Couchsurfing for several years, but I’m back and accepting requests - don’t let the response rate deter you!
CURRENT MISSION
Be a tourist at home and a local abroad.
ABOUT ME
My wife and I moved to Nashville in October of 2022. Before this, we lived in Knoxville for six years. And before that, we were both from New York State.
She and I met in college, where she studied communication disorders and sciences, and I studied sociology - both earning Bachelor degrees. Since then I’ve worked in higher education, and my wife has earned a hearing instrument specialist licensure, working at an audiology clinic.
I grew up in a small New York town and have maintained close relationships with many childhood friends. Some of them live in Nashville too, coincidentally landing here for reasons unrelated. My wife and I very much enjoy socializing and making connections with people. We love entertainment - always down for a live show or some comedy. She’s a movie buff and I’m a bit of a gamer. We both love and play a little bit of music. We enjoy doing trivia at the pub, we love to drink and generally have a good time.
I'm an independent person and a hard worker, and I love those traits in others. I'm drawn to funny, charismatic, opinionated, intelligent, socially graceful, culturally extrospective and introspective people. I enjoy and relate with both extroverts and introverts. I strive to make people socially comfortable, and comfortable in my home. I love bringing people together, I love to travel, and I love Couchsurfing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
All of my surfing experience has come from my trip through Europe in the summer of 2013.
I've hosted people from New York, Washington DC, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, Colorado, all the way to Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and England.
Couchsurfing is like having a window to the world from my living room. I used to be much more engaged in the site, to the point where I once was an official “Couchsurfing Ambassador.” It’s been a while since then, and I’m looking forward to getting back into the community.

Listened to Amsterdam in Amsterdam. Stumbled into the Royal Palace of Brussels. Mistaken identity in Turino. Serendipity in the streets of Rome involving an Italian host, a Columbian surfer, the Trevi fountain, the police, and a miraculous set of car keys (feel free to ask lol)
