Overview
About Me
I once met an old anthropologist who had traveled the world, spoke multiple languages, had spent decades studying the cultures of South-East Asian hunter-gatherers, and was currently training hard for his next trip there ("those guys run really fast in the jungle"). But at the end of our conversation, he said, "the real adventure, that's in your head." I agreed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The aurora borealis in the high Arctic.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could spend hours discussing the nature and structure of the human language and that of some particular languages. But I can also teach you which mushrooms, berries and plants (depending on the season) you should and shouldn't pick in the woods and discuss their uses. While I don't play the guitar so much as I used to these days, I'm always up for a jam.
