About Me

Hey! My name is Andrés and I'm 26 years old. Born and raised in Rionegro - Colombia.

When I was 17 I was fortunate enough to travel 6 months to New Zealand and stay with a local family. The idea of the trip was to improve my english but... you know what? At the end not only I became fluent in the language but also ended up discovering my best hobbie: being outdoors. I learnt to climb, hike, camp and all kinds of sports that I loved and ended up changing my life.

After this trip I started traveling more and more around Colombia and felt in love with it. I decided to start my own company (www.nomadtravel.co) where I could show people from all over the world the wonders we have here. I love my job because I get to meet people from different cultures, enjoy time around nature, speak other languages and most importantly work with a kind of tourism that brings progress to the communities that visits.

This summer July-August 2022 I will be traveling around the Pyrenees with an orchestra called Les Oiseaux de Trottoir (https://www.facebook.com/lesoiseauxdetrottoir/). Why: because I have great french friend called Antoine who is part of it and invited me to a tour they are doing for the whole month of August. The best part? They are all going by bycicle!! and a car will follow them with all the instruments.
I won't be playing any instruments but will be helping them with logistics and recording the whole tour.

I am really looking forward to this amazing experience and to improve my french!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I think it's a great way to interact with new cultures in every place I visit and I am now starting to host as well!

I have hosted more than 12 people in my house through another platform called Workaway and I really like the connections you build and all you learn from your guests. I am only now starting to use more Couchsurfing because I feel it has that same essence of hospitality that I love.
