1. Couchsurfing is NOT a dating app. For that you can use Tinder, Bumble, Hinge and so on.
2. The purpose of being on CS is to meet like minded travelers, share life experiences, visit a new place all while staying at a local's home.
3. If you meet the love of your life while CSing/Hosting, good for you. It happens, and it usually doesn't require you being a creep.
4. This kind of behaviour only ruins a wonderful platform. It puts people (and specially women) off hosting and/or surfing.
5. Respect and you will be respected in return

My name is Andressa (Andie for short), I was born in Rio but have lived most of my adult life abroad, and the last 7 years in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I'm a law graduate and I work with Aviation Law, for a Dubai-based airline.

I think Couchsurfing is a great way to make new friends and experience the cities like a true local.
It has also proved to me that there are loads of good, kind people in this world that want nothing but kindness and respect in return; I've met truly wonderful people through CS and can't wait to meet many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've entered (alone) one of the oldest true pyramids of Egypt, at the Saqqara desert. That would be ok if not for the fact that I was a solo female traveller, Egypt was in the middle of a transition between presidents, just out of a civil unrest, with war tanks all over Cairo and not a single tourist on a 100kms radius. I've never been so humbled, amazed and so freagging scared in my whole life - talk about guts!
