About Me

I'm a 40 year old male who has hardly seen any of the world, or my own beautiful country. I was sent to the Netherlands in early 2010 for a course by my work at the time. It was a great experience seeing all the old architecture etc. So different from little ol' New Zealand. I am planning a world trip (on a budget) from June 2015. I have sold my house and recently quit my job working as a chauffeur for the Dutch embassy. I had been driving for them for the past 6 years. My previous jobs have been varied and many.

I have my own small business as well which I was doing on the side. I run a mobile karaoke business, where I set up a location the customer has selected. Be it their home or office or wherever. It's a lot of fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to travel around the world from end June 2015 but have limited funds. I was told this is the place to look. Would be great to meet locals to learn more about the place I'm staying. I had my home open to fellow CS, but they all fell through due to one reason or another. This will be a big learning curve for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic taste in music. Of late, I have been listening to more older stuff, 60-80's.
I have a large range of movies that span most genres.
For books, I like Dan Brown, Raymond E. Feist, Robert Ludlum, David Gemmel, Terry Brooks

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Can't think of anything yet. Maybe buying a house? :)

Teach, Learn, Share

All good things to do. I'm not sure what I can teach anyone. Maybe some modular origami? :)

I would like to become more worldly as I believe that I have lived a sheltered life. I am going to learn to be more independent while I am on my travels.

Not sure what I can share. I make a mean bacon and egg pie. Not good for the cholesterol levels though.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not sure what I can offer at this stage. Maybe some witty banter?
